5. Application Procedures

STEP 1: Check Application Guidelines and Qualification for Admission

Applicants under Qualification for Admission 2 need to go through the Eligibility screening process before paying the Application fee and proceed the Web entry.

STEP 2: Complete Web Entry

Complete the Web entry within the following period. Web Entry System (Web入力システム) is only available during the Web entry period, applicants cannot access the page by then.

Note 3: Applicants under Qualification for Admission 2 are still required to pay the Application fee and complete the Web entry when the Eligibility is confirmed. Detail will be notified with the Eligibility screening result.

STEP 3: Submit Supporting Documents

— Registered mail or Courier: Must be delivered by 28th September 2019.
— Submit in person: Must be submitted by 28th September 2019, 19:00.

Submit all the required documents by Postal mail (Registered mail) / Courier service or bring it in person to the University of Tsukuba. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit it in one package. Please write “MBA-IB Application” in red on the front of the envelope.

Note 1: Any delay in the Application Documents including English Test Score will impede application evaluation and processing.

Note 2: Any application documents delivered after the deadline will not be accepted.

Note 3: Applicants who are inevitably unable to continue the application process and would like to decline the application, please contact the Academic Service Office (13. Inquiries and Where to submit).

6. For Applicants with Disabilities

The University of Tsukuba welcome applications from applicants with disabilities and are committed to making reasonable adjustments to enable them to participate fully in admission process.

The Admissions Committee view applications from applicants with disabilities on the same grounds as those from other applicants. All applications are assessed purely on academic merit and potential, according to the published screening criteria.

Please contact the Academic Service Office (13. Inquiries and Where to submit) in advance to discuss your application and submit the following materials by Saturday 31st August 2019. After having carefully studied the proposal, special measures may be offered.

  • Photocopy of Physical Disability Certificate (If applicable)
  • Original copy of Medical Certificate issued in the past 3 month (Required)
  • Application for special measures of Entrance Examination (Required) *Details needed, free format

University of Tsukuba have the special measures of examination fee exemption for the victims of disasters in Japan. For more details, please confirm this website.

This applies only to the victims of disasters in Japan.

7. Application Fee

First Screening: JPY 7,000
Payment Period: Tuesday 10th September 2019 ~ Saturday 28th September 2019

Second Screening: JPY 23,000
Payment Period: Notified to the successful applicants of First Screening

 

A non-refundable application fee will be payable online by credit card or at the convenience store in Japan. Payment must be made before completing the Web entry. Any transaction charges will be borne by the applicants.

Note 1: For Applicants under Qualification for Admission 2, please DO NOT pay the Application fee until result of Eligibility screening is notified.

Note 2: For Government-sponsored international students currently enrolled in a university in Japan, the Application fee will be waivered by submitting “Certificate of government-sponsored international student” issued by the university enrolled.
For Government-sponsored international students currently enrolled in other department of the University of Tsukuba, it’s not necessary to submit “Certificate of government-sponsored international student”, the Admissions Comittee will confirm your status internally.

 

 

University of Tsukuba have the special measures of examination fee exemption for the victims of disasters in Japan. For more details, please confirm this website.

1. Online Payment by Credit Card

>1: Access the Payment platform to pay the application fee.
>2: A 12-digit receipt number will be provided when completing the payment.
>3: Put the receipt number in the designated box on the Web entry system and click the “Submit” button.
>4: Print “収納証明書”(Certificate of Payment) or Payment result page.
>5: Affix the tear-off portion of the Certificate in the designated location of the mounting sheet which will be automatically created after completing the Web entry, or Staple the Payment result page with the sheet.
>6: Submit the sheet together with the other required documents by the designated deadline.

2. Payment at Convenience Store

Applicants are still required to access the Payment platform to obtain a payment number before your payment will be processed.
You can pay the application fee at either of the following convenience store (number of digit obtained via payment platform) in Japan.

  • Seven-Eleven (13-digit Payment Slip Number)
  • Lawson, MINI STOP, Family Mart (11-digit Customer Number (+ 4-digit Verification Code))

>1: Access the Payment platform to obtain a payment number.
>2: Visit a convenience store in Japan to pay the Application fee and obtain the Certificate of payment.
>3: Put the name of Convenience store, Date of payment and Payment number in the designated box on the Web entry system and click the “Submit” button.
>4: Affix the tear-off portion of the Certificate in the designated location of the mounting sheet which will be automatically created after completing the Web entry.
>5: Submit the sheet together with the other required documents by the designated deadline.
